Establish a Historic District in Brookline to keep the rural New England town feel
To keep Brookline looking like a rural New England town. This concept keeps appearing on surveys, visioning, etc. Lets not turn Brookline into a town you won't recognize as "rural" with future growth. Protect our individual character.

The visioning and surveys often mention having more of a Groton town center (functional). There appears to be desire for change also.

I like this idea! We have a lovely town...let's preserve the way it looks.

Much effort has been expended in recent years to enhance the public face of Brookline (what visitors see when they drive through town). There is a project to plant elm trees along Main and Milford Streets, the Village Store has modernized while still keeping its character. Older homes are being painted and maintained. It is time to establish a Historic District in Brookline to ensure for the future that Brookline retains its rural New England character.
